Cheesy Ham Pasties with Primula

Ingredients
- 2 tubes of Primula with Ham
- 6 large potatoes
- 100g/4oz ham chopped into smallish pieces
- 1 large packet of puff pastry
- 1 egg beaten
- Flour to roll
- Large round cereal bowl or side-plate (roughly 6 inch diameter)
Method
- Pre-heat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6
- Peel & chop potatoes into small pieces, put into a large pan, cover with cold water, bring to boil then simmer on a medium/low heat for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are soft in the middle.
- Drain well in a colander then put back in pan & mash well
- Add in 2 tubes of Primula with ham & the chopped ham pieces ,mix well and put aside.
Meanwhile
- On a floured surface roll out the puff pastry until it reaches a thickness of 4mm
- Place cereal bowl on top & carefully cut around, repeat 3 more times, re-roll pastry if needed
- In the centre of each round of pastry spoon on around 75g (3 heaped dessert spoons) of the mash mix
- With a pastry brush carefully brush beaten egg around the lower edge of the pastry (see diagrams)
- Carefully fold opposite edge over & gently squeeze edges together to form a seal
- Crimp edge with fingers, fork or handle of a teaspoon
- Gently put pasties on a baking sheet
- Brush the top with the beaten egg
- Place in the oven for 20 minutes until golden brown, ensuring centres are piping hot
Serving suggestions: Serve with a mixed salad & chunky potato wedges
